Police Museum opens in Bojnurd's Mofakham Cultural and Historical Complex

TEHRAN -- A Police Museum, was opened in Mofakham Cultural and Historical Complex in Bojnurd, North Khorasan province on Tuesday with cooperation of the province’s Police Force Command.

The event was attended by head of the Domestic Tourism Development Office at the tourism Ministry, head of North Khorasan Cultural Heritage Department, and the Deputy Chief of Police of the province.

According to a Miras Aria, the plan to establish a police historical-cultural museum was approved by FARAJA’s Center for Historical and Police Documents and Values in 2022, and after the implementation process, it was put into operation.

For the launch of the museum, funds from national and provincial sources have been allocated to equip the space, build display cases, light up, and prepare the complex.

A total of 17 weapons and historical objects have been donated to the collection by North Khorasan Provincial Police Command, as well as 44 historical artifacts, including old wireless phones from Tehran.

The purpose of launching the museum is to introduce the historical background and promote the culture of law enforcement and police from about 550 BC to the present, and the physical development and qualitative improvement of the collection are also on the agenda.

During the ceremony, the officials emphasized the importance of the historical background of the law enforcement system, considering the preservation and introduction of cultural heritage as a means of preserving the cultural roots of society.
